A story quest will begin to fully unlock the Island of Wavering Strings dungeon. Players will find two chests during the story quest and then be able to re-enter the Xin Yan Dungeon to collect the rest of the chests.
Chest 1 (story quest)
- Touch the strange musical instrument to enter the Xin Yang illusion.
- Solve the puzzle
- Go to the locked door
- The regular chest is to the left of the door.
Chest 2 (story quest)
- Fly to the next floating platform with the blue musical step.
- Solve the puzzle
- Get rich chest
Chest 3
- Accept the challenge again after completing the story quest.
- Go to the right of the blue flower entrance.
- Enter the door
- Fly to the next platform
- Defeat the enemies
- Open a regular chest
Chest 4
- Pass through the area
- Get to the platform where there is a blue musical step.
- Solve the puzzle
- Unlock a regular chest
Chest 5
- Continue exploring the area
- Kill all enemies
- Open precious chest
Chest 6
- From the location with the Precious Chest, follow the purple bird.
- Enter the door
- Hit the drum
- Keep following the purple bird
- Hit another drum to form a wooden bridge.
- Get a regular chest after a short cutscene
Chest 7
- Cross the bridge
- Walk through the door
- Turn left and hit the drum
- Glide to the larger floating platform
- Defeat the enemies
- Get rich chest
Chest 8
- Keep exploring
- Start the time trial
- Get to the rich chest before the time runs out to open it.
Chest 9
- Climb up the stairs
- Solve the puzzle
- Open rich chest
How to get the Echo Shell
In the same area as the 9th chest, players must rotate the smaller flower mechanism in the middle to the larger one on the right side to create an airflow. This will lead the players Genshin Impact to the top of the rock where the Shell lies.

- Fly to the platform with the purple bird.
- Follow it to the next platform
- Hit the Pyro Monument
- Walk through the door

- Walk out the door
- Solve the puzzle to summon a wind current to the former platform.
- Open the locked door with the key
- Hit the drum
- Start the time trial
- Quickly cross the bridge to reach the rich chest.
Chest 15
- Return to the entrance to the blue flower.
- Cross the wooden bridge down
- Walk through the door
- Walk left from the Pyro Monument.
- Hit the drum
- Enter through another door
- Climb up the mountain
- Get the precious chest that is on the right
Chest 16, 17 and 18
- Fly to the lower ledge with the drum, which opens up another wooden bridge.
- Enter the cave and go through the door at the end of the bridge.
- Activate the mechanism on the right to trigger an airflow.
- Land on the platform and open the door
- Walk to the right and click “Run” to complete the long puzzle in the blue flower room.
- Unlock two rich chests and one deluxe chest.
